In a future world where electricity no longer exists, David and Kate (ex-lovers) have to go on a journey, avoiding a dangerous London, to find David's mum. On the way, they find a small cottage in the middle of the countryside, and in that cottage they find a baby, helpless and lonely. An obstacle. A love rival.
